We recently hosted a really fun Emoji themed American Girl Doll Crafting Class here in Aldie, Virginia! We taught the girls how to hand sew mini pillow and Emoji plushies for their 18'' dolls, crafted mini breakfast in bed trays (complete with bacon and eggs!), and even made a doll bed!   This doll bed is inexpensive, recycled and super fun to make! Try this craft at your next Tangled party or American Girl Doll inspired party! Here in Aldie, Virginia we have a weekly American Girl Doll Crafting Class (after school class!) at a local school!  The theme is Disney and this week was Tangled Rapunzel. The girls LOVED making the Rapunzel braid and floral crown as well as this light up lantern! Halloween is coming up soon and we have a great Disney Villain inspired sweet treat to get the party started! These Little Mermaid Ursula Tentacles are so yummy and fun to make. Supplies: one bag of purple Candy Melts (you can get these at Michaels, ACMoore or JoAnn Fabrics) big pretzel rods silver sprinkles silver edible glitter tube edible candy eyeballs microwavable bowl big spoon wax paper, paper plate and plastic knife Make It! First set up the table so each girl has one paper plate and one sheet of wax paper over top of the plate. Stick the cardboard straws into the bottom of the marshmallows. If you love Star Wars you will enjoy our mini R2D2 mini plushie! Just a few supplies and you can make your own.  This also make a perfect R2D2 size for your American Girl Doll! Supplies: white felt (one piece cut about 16 inches long by 5 inches wide) white felt for arms etc.  (sizes vary depending on how you create it!) fabric markers one Styrofoam cup white thread and needle (for hand sewing the plushie) poly fiber fill glue gun with adult help Lets Make It! We have a really fun Disney Villain themed birthday idea!  Its edible too!  Learn how to make the Evil Queen/Witch red apple treats! Supplies: jumbo marshmallows red icing (we just used food coloring to die vanilla icing small pretzel sticks green icing gel red sprinkles cardboard straws or lollipop sticks Make It: Start by putting the straws into the bottom of the marshmallows. After you dye the icing start to ice the marshmallows. Roll the marshmallows into the red sprinkles.  Make sure to coat the top too! Cut the pretzels in half and stick a piece on top (this is your apple stem!) Now using the green gel pen draw the apple leaf near the stem. In one of our recent summer camps we taught our students how to make a miniature Fairy Garden Village!  See below for some ideas on how to make your own! You can purchase most of these supplies at Dollar Tree and Michaels.  Dollar Tree has assorted moss, sand, rocks, shells etc.  So this project is very inexpensive!
