Looking for a fun birthday party for your little crafter?  At one of our recent summer camps here in Aldie, Virginia we made little beach scenes for cute little teddy bears! We purchased this teddy bears in a pack from Oriental Trading.  You can also get them on Amazon.  They are usually a 12 pack for about $13.  These would make a great party activity and favor for the kiddos! Do you love crafting mini items for your American Girl Doll?  Love Grace?  We have some awesome inspiration to get you started on making a Grace themed Paris bakery stand for your 18'' doll! In a recent private Girl Scout troop workshops here in Northern Virginia we helped a Washington DC troop earn the Making Memories badge with a scrapbook theme! We think this is a great retired badge (they are still currently available on GSUSA!) and make a super fun activity for your troop.  If you are local come to our studio and we can help you earn this badge. We recently had a great time with some awesome Junior Girl Scouts at our Secret Garden Sewing, Crafting & Gardening Camp in Aldie, Virginia!  They earned their Gardener Badge and the retro Sew Simple badge too! We have the best summer craft for you to make for your American Girl Doll or 18'' Doll...a camping tent! See below to make one for your doll! In one of our recent summer camps for girls here in Aldie, Virginia the Junior Girl Scouts earned their Gardener badge by completing several fun outdoor projects and sewing gardening themed items too! Our DIY Kids Terrarium Craft is awesome for a birthday party, project idea when earning the Gardener GS Junior badge, or just a fun summer activity to do with the kiddos. If you are a Junior Girl Scout troop working on your Jeweler Junior badge we have a great activity for you!  This cool thread spool necklace is also a great way to recycled thread spool and use buttons in a unique way!  Plus it is pretty inexpensive and not messy. Supplies: buttons!  any colors and sizes thread spool  any size and color washi tape necklace string (make sure it is thin enough to fit through the button holes) Make It:   First we decorated our thread spools with washi tape.  We used 3 different kinds and wrapped it around the middle of the spool.  You can get a pack of washi tape from the craft store. We wanted to share these adorable felt food plushies we taught the girls to make at a recent sewing class here in Aldie, Virginia. We made our own patterns ahead of time with poster board.  You can really make these any size.  Poster board patterns are great for kids because they are sturdy and easy for them to trace onto the fabric. The possibilities are endless with felt veggies and junk food!  We created Popsicle, donuts, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and french fries.  The girls even wanted to add hummus, ranch, ketchup and mustard.  So we gave them little condiment cups and felt scraps to create those cute little dipping sauces.
