Brownie Girl Scout Bugs Badge Ideas: Kids Cooking & Crafting Bugs Projects

Summer is a great time for kids to explore some of the creepy crawlers in the ground and in the air! www.cupcakesandlace.com

We have a few fun craft and cooking idea for your Girl Scout Brownie troop to work towards your Bugs Badge.  You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to enjoy these activities.  And hey if you have a little boy he may love these projects too!

Read below to get some ideas and inspiration to work towards the Bugs Badge.  We recently used these awesome ideas in our recent Stuffed Animal Sewing/Crafting Cooking Brownie Bugs Badge Summer Camp here in Chantilly, Virginia!

Edible Dirt Worm Pots:  Who doesn’t love this timeless cooking craft?!  We found these brown pots (without the holes in the bottom yay!) at the Dollar Tree in a pack of 4 for $1!  They are stocked in Spring and Summer in the garden section.

www.cupcakesandlace.comPom Pom Caterpillar Craft:  We had a previous post a while back on making these cute pom pom critters.  Click here for instructions.  We decided to do this craft again in our Bugs camp and the girls loved it.  We had 8 girls and we bought the colorful rainbow pack of (big jumbo pom poms) from Michaels in pom pom section.  They came in a pack of 50 so each girl got 6.  You can choose to add legs with pipe cleaners or just use googley eyes and the pom poms for a quick craft.

Lovely Lady Bug Stuffed Animal:  If you know how to hand sew this a fun craft www.cupcakesandlace.comyou can do with your little kiddos or troop.  We just used red and black felt.  You can get small squares of felt from the craft store for a cheap price.  Or buy it in yards at the fabric store.
