Girl Scout Junior Badge Making Memories Scrapbooking Badge
In a recent private Girl Scout troop workshops here in Northern Virginia we helped a Washington DC troop earn the Making Memories badge with a scrapbook theme!
We think this is a great retired badge (they are still currently available on GSUSA!) and make a super fun activity for your troop. If you are local come to our studio and we can help you earn this badge.
If you are not local you can do this on your own. You can get some great supplies for fairly inexpensive at some of the store below! The trick with scrapbook with a large group is to pre assemble the supplies on various tables. We laid out all the scrapbook papers neatly on a huge table so they can see each one. Then we put the smaller embellishments (stickers, bows, paper flowers, smaller paper quotes etc. on trays at the tables). The cutting supplies went on one separate cutting table so they were not carrying around scissors at all times. Have the girls go up 3 at a time to pick up to 5 papers and go in shifts. This keeps thing organized and some can be cutting while some picking embellishment etc.
You can earn this badge in a few hours or break it up into two different meetings. If you are on an encampment this
would make a great activity!
The girls in our workshop created the scrapbook just for their previous Girl Scout memories and trips!
