Sew Simple Junior Badge Workshop & Baby Quilts For Africa!
In one of our recent sewing workshops we helped the Junior Girl Scouts earn their Sew Simple badge!
Before the badge change a year or two ago we stocked up on all the fun retired badges! We love the Sew Simple Junior badge!
During the Sew Simple workshops we teach the girls how to use the machine and they get to leave home with some awesome projects they made. They completed a headband, reversible purse, and stuffed animal.
We even had time for a fun service project! During our Sew Simple class we help the girls start making baby quilts for villages in Africa. This organization called Direct to Africa helps provide villages in need by offering: school supplies, things needed for hospitals, scholarships, support and more! Each workshop a troop will start working on a quilt, then the next troop may help 
work on it some more, and finally we do the finishing touches. Once we have our next big load of completed blankets we will ship them over! The provided picture shows one of the completed quilts a few troops have worked on in the past.
The girls always have a great time working on their projects but we have noticed what they especially enjoy is helping others!
